Market of Choice is hiring a Meat & Seafood Field Merchandiser to join our close-knit Corporate team! If you're a Meat & Seafood expert who is ready to roll up your sleeves and work toward a long-term career in our family-owned Oregon business, we'd love to hear from you!

Focusing primarily on the on-site responsibilities of a traditional Category Manager, the MOC Meat & Seafood Field Merchandiser works as a hands-on contributor to the successful operation of each MOC Meat & Seafood Department at each of our eleven stores throughout the state of Oregon! The job is roughly 80% execution of standard operating procedures and company policies and 20% feedback and decision-making.

This position focuses on achieving operational excellence while assisting store management with the overall program, food safety, customer service, and department condition best practices. This position works closely with Corporate Store and Merchandising Operations and Store and Departmental Management to ensure perfect execution.

As a Meat Field Merchandiser, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Regularly store tours to our Portland, Ashland, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene and Medford Meat and Seafood departments
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with Corporate Store Operations, Sales Manager and Store and Departmental management
  • Execute best practices for excellent customer service, merchandising, inventory, ordering, staffing, food safety, and product quality
  • Create action plans to address and correct substandard expectations
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends, products, and services
  • Develop and maintain outstanding relations with customers, employees, and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of Meat and Seafood operations and safety
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with processing all fresh/frozen primal and cuts of Beef, Pork, Lamb and Poultry (this is a required qualification)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Seafood (this is a required qualification)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to use various office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, calendaring, e-mail management and the Internet
  • Create, compose and edit written and electronic materials
  • Ability to work regular or irregular hours on a consistent basis and regularly travel to all Market of Choice locations, special events, and other functions.

This position also requires having and maintaining ServSafe certification.
